On April 19 2017, 108 juniors from the Academy of Global Business and Advance Technology at United South High School (USHS),received Business and Dining Etiquette training from Mr. AB Barrera, who is a Certified Business Etiquette Professional from PDMG Communications and Marketing. The goal of the event was to help give students an opportunity to develop an understanding of the unwritten rules that govern current and future workplaces and business relationships. To apply proper etiquette to one’s daily routine is to demonstrate professionalism and respect for others. In an increasingly global business environment, knowledge of proper etiquette is crucial in dealing with, and operating within different cultures, countries and geographic regions. The training is designed to help students become aware of diverse cultures, verbal and non-verbal communication, communication styles, and professional appearance.
USHS Business Management teachers Mrs. Claudia Saenz and Mrs. Clarissa Gonzalez have provided students with ample opportunities to learn about the world of business. “The students are thankful to Mr. Barrera for the opportunity to learn from his expertise. The information he provided enhances and reinforces aspects of what students learn in their business classrooms on a daily basis. One of our students said that his experience with the training was an eye opening, in that it would help him further refine his communications and etiquette skills in the business world ” said Sinneh J. Koroma Jr., Magnet Dean of the USHS Academy of Global Business & Advance Technology Magnet. ” Special thanks to Ms. Chachy Gonzalez, Evelyn Avalos and Julio Anguiano for their support in ensuring a successful, etiquette training for our students”, he concluded.
