Perfect attendance paid off for Lyndon B. Johnson High School student Mariana Pedroza, who won a 2018 Kia Niro from Sames Auto Group.
In addition to winning the car from Sames, the Laredo Federal Credit Union paid the tax, title and license on the vehicle and A&K World Class Driving School gave a free drivers education course to Mariana. The remaining semifinalists received a tablet, courtesy of Sames Auto Group and 3 of the 15 finalists will receive free Chick-fil-A for a year courtesy of the Chick-Fil-A Marketplace at Bob Bullock.
The announcements were made June 1st at the Laredo Energy Arena in front of a live audience. The car give away was part of the 5th Annual “Kia in the Klassroom” Program, which promotes the importance of daily school attendance for high school students throughout the school year. Each time student had perfect attendance during a nine-week period; they were given a special voucher to drop off at the Sames Kia dealership.
