Congratulations are in order for United High School graduate Marlon Williams who recently signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball for U.T. Rio Grande Valley. Williams’ accolades as a basketball player include being selected as an All District 29-6A player in 2015-2016 and District Co- M.V.P. for District 29-6A in 2016-2017. Coach Archie Ramos described Williams as a great student who is respected and admired his peers, teammates and teachers. “Marlon is very caring, compassionate and always conscientious about doing the right thing. As an athlete he is fast on his feet and knows how to get to the rim, draw, and finish”, he concluded. Marlon hopes to achieve a level of skills that will one day put him on a roster of potential NBA draft picks. He is also interested in becoming a physical therapist or coach. ” I thank my parents, coaches, teammates and friends for supporting my efforts on and off the court. I will miss everyone back home, but am looking forward to what’s ahead” said Williams, who is the son of Devonne Adams and Lakeesha Williams.
